Homeschool Ed-ventures is a hands-on science education program for homeschooled students in grades K4 – grade 8. Taught in the “Riveredge style,” these classes encourage inquiry, outdoor exploration, and problem solving.
Volunteer Position Description: Assistants are paired with a Riveredge Environmental Educator and work with the same group of students throughout the school year. Volunteers help prepare class materials, work with students in small groups during outdoor explorations, and assist the Riveredge educator as necessary.
Time Commitment: Classes are held 9:00am-12:00pm every other Monday or Friday during fall, winter, and/or spring sessions. (It’s okay if you can’t assist with all 5 classes each session).
Qualifications: This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with children and the natural environment and prefer to assist (rather than lead) a group.
