The 2004 Riveredge Creek Water Quality Monitoring Project

Riveredge Creek is the core ecosystem feature of the 47 acre Riveredge Creek and Ephemeral Pond State Natural Area. Although Riveredge Creek enters the Milwaukee River within Riveredge Nature Center, much of the upper portion of the Riveredge Creek drainage basin is privately owned. Agricultural and residential land use within the Riveredge Creek Drainage Basin will impact water quality and biotic diversity of the creek. At the time of its designation as a State Scientific Area in 1985, a qualitative inventory of the invertebrate fauna of Riveredge Creek was performed. In 1996, preliminary data on non-point source pollution levels was also gathered. The goal of the 2004 Riveredge Creek Water Quality Monitoring Project™ was to identify possible sources of non-point source po
