Kohler-Andrae State Park

Kohler-Andrae State Park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan Shore. The hike, led by Elaine Nulph, could range from 2.5 to 5 miles. Take I-43 to V/OK (Waldo) Exit. Go east on V about two miles. Where V turns left(north), go straight ahead on Beach Park Lane which is the park entrance road. Go to the Nature Center at the north end of the parking lot. Fee: Free
Beginning Wine Making

Erin Ortiz, wine expert and coinsurer, will give us the ins and outs small batch wine making. Late summer and fall is abundant with fruits just ripe and ready to be made into wine. She'll also bring a few samples of the wines she has created.

Knee Deep in Prairies

Join us for a full day of fun on the prairie, designed to pique your curiosity about, increase your appreciation of and fire up your enthusiasm for prairies.
Activities will include walks and talks on and about Riveredge’s exceptional prairie plantings with teams of regional experts, all of whom have first-hand experience in planting and maintaining prairie habitats in southeast Wisconsin. Come to share, to learn, to ask questions, to laugh and to recharge your commitment to preserving tallgrass prairie, one of our most endangered ecosystems. Meet Me in the Tree House
Children’s Story Hour
Thursday, August 12, 10:30-Noon
We will have fun doing some indoor and outdoor science experiments geared for the little ones. So meet at the indoor tree house and we will go from there. A snack will be included, but feel free to bring a bag lunch for a picnic with the other participants. Appropriate for ages 3-5, but all ages will enjoy it! Please dress accordingly.

Poke Around the Prairie
Family Program
Saturday, August 21, 1-4pm
Spend a fun-filled summer afternoon exploring the Riveredge prairies. Uncover some of the hidden wonders of this special environment through a variety of exciting activities. Join a Naturalist to catch, tag and release Monarch butterflies as we take part in the Monarch Watch migration research project. Learn about the journey and migration patterns of the Monarch and how you can help this amazing insect. You and your family won’t want to miss storytelling, crafts, games and much more. Pre-registration is not required, but is appreciated.

The photo club brings together those who enjoy photography and wish to take better pictures through practice. Held at Riveredge on the last Tuesday of every month. Fee: Free.
